Social Welfare and Public Relations Unit has been providing and maintaining the good standards of patients and staff welfare to the primary professions of medicine and nursing. The unit was actively involved in the patients care program by promoting the optimum health care of patients population, relatives and visitors thus ensuring that the general public has a proper image of KCMC Hospital and his activities or special events through mass media communication and news papers coverage, radio or television.

In implementing its activities effectively and efficiently, social welfare and public relation unit collaborate with governmental and non-governmental institutions such as RITA, Regional and District Social Welfare Department, Immigrations, Police, KWIECO, KIWAKKUKI and many more. The unit also works closely with mass media within and outside Kilimanjaro region.

 

GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The main objective of the unit is to help vulnerable patient, staff, students welfare and community at large.

 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • To coordinate all activities concerning abandoned children, patients and dead bodies at KCMC morgue.
  • To coordinate social welfare activities to staff and students by identifying, handle, and advice on how to rectify the situation
  • To coordinate death and birth certificates at the hospital level
  • To coordinate public relation activities within the Hospital
  • To conduct counselling and health education to clients
