Institute of Postgraduate Medicine and Research
(i) The Institute conducts four-year Postgraduate (Master of Medicine - M.Med) Programmes in following specialities:
- Dermatovenereology
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Internal Medicine
- Paediatrics
- Ophthalmology
- Diagnostic Radiology
- Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)
- Orthopaedics
- Surgery
- Anaesthesiology
(ii) Master of Science (MSc) in Urology (Two years)
(iii) Master of Public Health (MPH) (One year)
In addition to regular degree programmes, KCMC trains graduate doctors and pharmacists for one year Internship rotation.
Elective period for students and short term training for graduates are also offered at KCMC.
The four-year Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology course involves extensive surgical experience.
Entry Requirements for M. Med. Degree Programs
Basic degree: Candidates should have a MD degree from a recognized university or equivalent medicine degree, followed preferably by at least two years of working experience (which includes one year internship).
C.V: Candidates should submit their curriculum vitae.
Candidates should have positive confidential reports from three referees.
Positive confidential report covering the candidate's internship period performance and the performance in the field after the internship.
Must undergo medical examination to determine fitness.
Must have obtained B grade or above in subject intended for specialization.
