Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine offers the following course:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree (five years)

Entry Requirements for Doctor of Medicine (MD) Course:

The entry criteria are as follows:

Direct entrants:

Three principal level passes in the subjects of Biology or Zoology, and Physics or Mathematics all passed at the same sitting (minimum points = 4.5*). This is at A-level education (Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education, ACSE-Tanzania).

Preference will be given to applicants who have finished "A" level in past 3 years.

Applicants with principal level passes at any level in the 3 subjects but who obtained C or above credits in Biology and Chemistry at Ordinary level secondary education (O-level), may be considered for admission.

Those holding qualifications equivalent to the above from institutions recognized by the College may be considered for admission.

Equivalent qualifications:

Candidates holding relevant clinical diploma or other health professional qualification from approved institutions will be considered for admission into the MD program provided they had attempted the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE, Tanzania) and obtained at least two principal passes at any level in Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics.

Holders of first degree or its equivalent majoring in Biology Zoology or Chemistry may be considered for admission.

KCM College Qualification/Admission Test:

In addition to the above criteria, candidates will be required to appear and pass an
admission test and an interview.
