Philosophy and Objectives

Anaesthesiology today is increasingly accepted as separate speciality throughout the world for its special and unique responsibilities and its own code of professional behaviour. The role of the modern anaesthesiologist include not only anaesthetising and reawakening of the patient, but also minimising the physiological impact of surgery and re-establishment of homeostasis. These are therefore achieved through training.

The graduates of the Institution are expected to attain the following objectives:

  • clear concept of the professional responsibilities of anaesthetist to the patients, colleagues and the nation
  • sufficient levels of technical competence, skills and theoretical knowledge to discharge professional duties
  • perform preventive maintenance and basic service on anaesthetic equipment which she/he is responsible.

The Future

  • Award the Advanced Diploma in Clinical Sciences (Anaesthesia) by TUMAINI UNIVERSITY
  • Update the Nurse Anaesthesia Certificate to Diploma Level
  • Link the Nurse Anaesthesia training with other Training programs : American Nurse Anaesthetist Training Program
